Next Generation Scholars equips and empowers first generation, under-resourced Marin County middle and high school students to succeed in college and beyond through socially-conscious leadership development.

Grounded in individualized academic and social support for them and their families, our students are emboldened to address the inequities in the world, both for themselves and for their communities.

Mission Statement:

Describe the Tutoring or Mentoring Opportunity

Our organization offers both tutoring opportunities to support middle and high school students who are first-generation college-bound.

  • Tutoring is offered in core academic subjects such as math, English, science, and history.

  • Sessions are held once a week for one hour, in person

  • Tutors are paired with students based on academic need, availability, and subject expertise.

  • Volunteers support students with homework, test preparation, concept reinforcement, and skill-building.

  • Tutors also provide encouragement and study strategies, helping students strengthen confidence and independence in their learning.
